Musings of Revelations 1

Just thought that Revelations 1 is interesting enough for me to want to share about it. :)

In Revelations 1, John writes about what he had seen and heard through visions.

First thought: How can we be so sure a vision comes from God and it is not some self-made vivid dream? Be discerning. In order to do so, it is important to have a good knowledge of the word to be able to cross-reference and check.
(I'm thankful that God made the man that made Google because it made this process so much easier.)

Revelations 1 and Daniel 7 have identical verses.

Revelations 1
13 and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.

Daniel 7
“As I looked,

“thrones were set in place,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat.
His clothing was as white as snow;    the hair of his head was white like wool.
His throne was flaming with fire,    and its wheels were all ablaze.

....

13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him.

Historically speaking, these 2 books were written in two different 'eras'. Cool right?

Second thought: Write down what you see/ hear/ dream of.
I'm guilty of dismissing certain thoughts and dreams as passing thoughts and unimportant.

There were instances where I feel that maybe God was trying to say something... then I vaguely remember seeing something 5 days ago, but because I did not record it I kind of forget about it and am unable to verify it. So it leads "maybe I'm thinking to much" and dismiss it again only to find that 20 days later God tells someone to tell me "excuse me I was talking to you. why do you keep ignoring me"

That's why journaling is important. Maybe it is God talking to us; maybe it is not. No harm writing it down and praying for confirmation or revelation. When in doubt - refer back to the bible.

Operation Jubilee (NOT)

Thank you everyone who contributed to making Operation Jubilee (NOT) a success!

Although Pastor Wilfred kind of expected it but "he was overwhelmed"!

Next year will be the actual Operation Jubilee. HAHA!
